Which Los Angeles SEO agency is the right fit?
The right fit depends on what you need besides SEO. Coalition Technologies suits businesses that want web design and paid media from the same team. HawkSEM leads with paid search. Brenton Way targets scaleups and mid-size brands. Website Depot is a Silver Lake agency. GO-SEO focuses on service-based businesses and creatives.
This guide covers six agencies with a Los Angeles office, plus three well-known firms based elsewhere. We checked each agency’s own website or a public directory listing for location, services and pricing. Where an agency does not publish prices, we say so instead of guessing.
A note on bias: GO-SEO publishes this guide, and we are on the list. We kept the order alphabetical so no one gets a ranking.
How did we build this list?
We ran four checks on every agency. Last checked: October 2026.
- Location. Does the agency list a Los Angeles office?
- Services. What does it say it does besides SEO?
- Pricing. Does it publish prices, or only a budget range?
- Fit. Who does it say it serves?
Our sources were each agency’s own website where we could reach it, and public directories (BrightLocal, TechBehemoths, Clutch and BuiltIn LA) where we could not. We did not interview clients or audit results. Ask any agency for case studies in your industry before you sign.

Which well-known SEO firms are based outside Los Angeles?
These three show up in many “best Los Angeles SEO” lists, so here is where they actually sit.
- Directive Consulting is based in Irvine and focuses on B2B and SaaS performance marketing. A directory lists a $5,000 minimum project.
- Ignite Visibility is headquartered in San Diego, with an Irvine office, per its BuiltIn LA listing.
- Victorious is headquartered in San Francisco. Its Clutch profile lists SEO packages from $5,999 a month and a $50,000 minimum project.
How do these agencies compare?
Only GO-SEO publishes SEO prices on its own site that we could find. Other prices here come from directories, and the rest ask you to request a quote.

What should you look for in a Los Angeles SEO agency?
Look for proof you can check, clear reporting and contract terms you can leave. A good agency shows its work before you pay for it.
Can they show results for businesses like yours?
Ask for case studies from your industry and your size. A restaurant and a law firm need different SEO.
How do they measure success?
Traffic alone is a weak signal. Ask how they tie SEO to calls, leads and revenue, and how often they report.
What does the contract say?
Check the minimum term, how you cancel, and who owns the content, links and accounts if you leave.
Do they cover AI search?
People now get answers from tools like ChatGPT and Google’s AI Overviews. Ask how the agency helps your site get cited there, not only ranked in Google.
What are the red flags?
- A guarantee of rankings. No one controls Google.
- No audit or diagnosis before a quote.
- A price far below the market, with no explanation of what you get.
- No named person who will do the work.
How much does SEO cost in Los Angeles?
Expect roughly $1,500 to $5,000 a month for most businesses. Prices for Los Angeles specifically are rarely published, so these are US figures from one 2026 pricing guide, SEO Sherpa (published June 2026).
| Option | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Established US agency | $2,500 to $5,000 a month |
| Freelancer | $1,000 to $3,000 a month |
| Basic agency retainer (10 to 15 hours a month) | About $1,159 to $1,800 a month |
| Standalone website audit | $500 to $5,000 |
The retainer tiers come from the guide’s review of 350 agencies. It does not say how those agencies were chosen.
For examples from this list, GO-SEO publishes $750 to $2,450 a month, and Victorious lists packages from $5,999 a month on Clutch. Compare what each price includes, not just the number. You can see exactly what our plans cover on the SEO pricing page.
What do people ask about hiring an SEO agency in Los Angeles?
What do SEO agencies do?
They help your website show up when people search for what you sell. The work usually includes keyword research, fixing technical problems on your site, writing or improving content, building links, and reporting on results.
What is the 80/20 rule in SEO?
It is a rule of thumb, not a law. It says a small share of your pages, keywords or links, often around 20 percent, drives most of your results, often around 80 percent. In practice it means finding the few pages that matter and improving those first.
Can ChatGPT do SEO?
It can help with research, outlines, first drafts and schema code. It cannot replace strategy, fact-checking, technical fixes on your site, or access to your own ranking data. Treat it as a tool your agency may use, not a substitute for one.
Which country is best for SEO?
There is no best country. SEO works anywhere people search. The right target is the place where your customers are, whether that is Los Angeles, the whole US or another market.
Does an SEO agency still matter now that AI answers are everywhere?
Yes, but the goal is wider. Your pages still need to rank in Google, and they now also need to be clear and trustworthy enough for AI tools to cite. Ask any agency how it handles both.
